Derek Rice
LUMEN CENTER INTERN
Derek is a fourth-year Political Science student at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a Lumen Center intern at Upper House. He is looking forward to learning how to conduct in-depth academic research through the lens of his faith, especially as it relates to political science.
Derek has long been fascinated by the history of human conflict—how it begins, escalates, and resolves—and hopes to bring that curiosity and analytical mindset to his work with the Upper House team. He has been attending Upper House events since he was young and is excited to contribute to creating those experiences for others.
Outside of school and work, Derek enjoys getting outdoors, hiking, biking, and spending time on the water. He has been involved with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship since his freshman year.
