Open Study

Are you looking for a place to study?

You’ve found the right place! Upper House is a light-filled, modern space where you can meet with friends, take a lunch break, craft a paper, or prep for your next exam. Free wi-fi is available Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. You’ll also find plenty of table space, comfortable seating, and (on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM) an in-house coffee shop, A Just Brew (AJB). Check-in at the front desk and choose your spot for productivity!

From time to time Upper House will close for open study hours, for event set up/hosting, or outside group use. To get text message updates on open study hours, click here.

Front Desk Volunteers

Want to study and volunteer? You can help create the welcoming atmosphere that you’ve come to enjoy during Upper House visits by volunteering here for a one-time or regular front desk shift (2 hours).

Pop-up Lunches

Upper House offers monthly pop-up lunches for students. These meals are provided by the Stephen & Laurel Brown Foundation, and are prepared by the foundation staff team, fellows, and interns.

Finals Week at Upper House

There is no better place to study for finals than Upper House!

  • One of the best study environments on campus, with natural light and comfy seating
  • Extended study hours, December 11-19, 2024 (times tbd)
  • Generous hospitality and plenty of food to fuel you
  • Plenty of space to spread out your papers and books
  • Study rooms you can reserve with groups (When you enter and sign in, you will see what’s available.)
  • Mental break activities (provided by us), should you so desire

The Upper House Fellows Program is your place to ask the deeper questions about faith, your sense of vocation, and being a follower Jesus Christ in a complex and pluralistic world.

Interns

The Upper House Internship Program is a paid opportunity designed for undergraduate students’ professional and spiritual development.
