EVENT TECHNOLOGY INTERN

David Erickson is an Event Technology Intern at Upper House and a student at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he studies Consumer Behavior & Marketplace Studies and is enrolled in the ROTC program. His work focuses on supporting the technical needs of Upper House events, from stage lighting and audio to microphones and livestreaming. He works alongside the Director of Technology & Media to help events run smoothly behind the scenes—because, as David puts it, when he’s done his job well, “no heads should be turning towards the sound board asking, ‘What is going on back there?’”

David’s passion for event technology began at a young age through serving at his church, where he helped set up and clean up services before eventually taking on roles in lighting, live audio, and livestream production. Growing up in a musical household also gave him an early introduction to worship leading, recording, and audio production. Through his internship at Upper House, David hopes to continue developing his technical skills while bringing his creativity, leadership, and passion for serving others to the team.

David was first drawn to Upper House as a freshman through its hospitality and community. As he became more involved and got to know the staff and other interns, he came to appreciate the Christ-centered environment and the opportunity to contribute to a community centered on Christian thought and formation at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Outside of work and school, David enjoys running, drinking perhaps a little too much coffee, making music, and spending time with his Christian community.
